Abstract: 

Despite the fact that interpreting has long existed in history and predates translation, interpreter training as an autonomous discipline is non-existent at the graduate level in Iran. The paramount focus of this study was to probe into the status quo of interpreting courses in Iranian academia and subsequently delve into the possible expediencies to establishing such a discipline in higher education. To this end, 15 professional interpreters (9 from Iran and 6 from other countries), 10 interpreter trainers (4 from Iran and 6 from other countries), and 118 English Translation Studies students (32 M. A. and 86 B. A. ) who were selected through convenience sampling participated in this study. The students filled out a 20-item researchers-designed Likert-scale interpreting status quo questionnaire and the interpreter trainers and interpreters were invited for a formal semi-structured interview. Findings, analyzed quantitatively by SPSS software version 28 and qualitatively by inductive codification process, revealed the existing situation of the interpreting courses in the Iranian academia in terms of needs analysis, objectives and syllabus, methodology, materials as well as course contents and ensured the significance of establishing interpreter training as an independent discipline in the higher education among all stakeholders, i. e. interpreters, interpreter trainers (teachers) and interpreter trainees (students) for a number of expediencies including non-existence of this discipline in Iran, the need for academization, its multidisciplinary nature, dearth of specialization, addressing stakeholders and researchability, generating pertinent activities, glocal reputation, and employability.

Abstract: 

The aim of this quasi-experimental study was to investigate the impact of a metacognitive training program on university freshmen’s reading comprehension skill in a three-credit General English (GE) Course. The participants included eight groups of freshmen, in four disciplines: Management, Psychology, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering. They were randomly assigned as four experimental and four control groups, each including approximately 30 participants. The same materials were taught to all groups after their initial homogeneity in English was assessed via Analysis of Variance of the pre-test scores obtained from a Key English Test (KET). In the experimental groups, one whole session was devoted to explicitly teaching three sets of metacognitive strategies and five reading strategies: skimming, scanning, previewing, using context clues, and making inferences. These groups also received metacognitive awareness-raising while applying the strategies in each reading lesson for six sessions. The analyses of the research data revealed that metacognitive strategy training promoted the participants’ learning when integrated with a reading-focused GE course regardless of their gender and a small effect from discipline. The findings have implications for teachers, materials developers, and teacher trainers.

Abstract: 

Human resource training and development (HRD) has become an interdisciplinary field of study as an important academic discipline. But the literature review shows that there is no consensus on components of this field. This research was conducted with the aim of studying the existing situation and determining the scope of HRD, using qualitative research approach and case study method. The population in this study was all resources related to the subject, curriculum of the top universities in this field, as well as specialists of HRD. Therefore, after studying theoretical fundamentals, the curriculum of the top 10 universities was studied. Also, with seven experienced professors interviewed, and four group interviews with employers and proctors of HRD were conducted through the focus group. The interviewees were selected in a purposeful way and systematic coding was used to analyze the data. The results of these three stages of research have shown that the most important areas of study in HRD are: training design, HRD strategies, application of modern learning technologies in HRD, managing learning programs, evaluating learning effectiveness, talent management, coaching and mentoring, knowledge management, change and innovation management, and performance improvement management. Also, competencies such as leadership development, strategic human resource management, business intelligence, organizational behavior analysis, communication skills, and benchmarking of HRD have been identified as core topics in this field.

Abstract: 

Background and objectives: Psychological capital is a concept inspired by positivist psychology and with the combination of positive and expandable psychological states and the positivist organization, and discipline is the main pillar of the sustainability of each field, and the necessity of discipline is felt in all human societies; therefore, this research seeks to study the governing relationships between the two categories of psychological capital and the Internalization of discipline in I.R.I Police Training centers.Methodology: In terms of its objectives, this research is of an applied research type and a descriptive-survey study. The statistical population of this study consisted of the trainee soldiers of Shahid Bahonar Training Center of I.R.I Police in Kerman province in 2014. According to the type of research and number of variables studied, 260 individuals were selected randomly using cluster random sampling method. The method of collecting data in this research is library and survey studies and the tools for collecting these data are note-taking and researcher-made questionnaire, respectively.Findings and results: The results of this study showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the dimensions of the psychological capital and the internalization of discipline. The components of hopefulness (0.685), resilience (0.679) and self-efficacy (0.671) had the most positive and significant relationship, respectively, and the component of optimism (0.485) had the least significant relationship.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this applied research is to study the effectiveness of gamification on corporate training.  Methodology: A gamified course was designed and implemented to train the location of Fire Hosing Cabinet for 24 employees of a firefighting maintenance company in Iran Mall shopping Center in Tehran. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental research plan (post-test only control group design) the participants of the study were randomly assigned to treatment (12) and control (12) groups and trained for a week.  Conclusion: The descriptive and interpretive result of the posttest analyses indicated the effectiveness of gamification of the training performed for the employees of the firefighting maintenance company in Iran Mall shopping Center in Tehran. Moreover, the descriptive result of Gamification Acceptance Questionnaire answered by the members of the experimental group after gamified training indicated that all the participants in the experimental group were satisfied with the gamified training course.

Abstract: 

The main aim of the present study was to develop a rubric against which interpreting can be assessed. To this end, different aspects of interpretation of four Iranian interpreters were analyzed. Based on the results obtained, a noticeable positive correlation was observed between the analytic scoring of interpreter performance on the one hand, and the holistic ratings provided by three experienced raters on the other. Analyzing the interpreters' performance over different time intervals, the researcher found a noticeable decline in the measure of complexity which was attributed to the heavy demand that restructuring imposes on the limited cognitive resources of the interpreters over time. Also, a significant negative rank- order correlation was observed between the complexity and translation accuracy of interpreter performance. This was justified on the basis of the trade- offs that interpreters were willing to accept in order to maintain the efficiency of their interpretation. The other findings of the study also corroborated the very idea of utilizing analytic measures for interpreter evaluation in order to increase objectivity.

Abstract: 

research on the personality and thoughts of Ibn Abi al-Madid and a glance at his Sharh-i Nahj al-Balagha seems to be worthwhile and even essential due to his reliability in religious studies.He is well-known particularly among shi'i writers and scholars, and his knowledgeable data have received much attention by them; his attitudes and analyses are highly significant both theologically and historically, as well as in terms of transmission of hadith. However, this attention has occasionally been accompanied by a critical approach and even some books have been written in its refutation, but there has been much trust in his views and judgments especially in some instances of dispute with the opponents, to the extent that some authors have launched arguments with Sunnis invoking his words in support of their views, claiming that shi'i beliefs have followers, or at least proponents, even among the very Sunnis. Therefore, it seems befitting to take a glance, however cursive, at his personality and thoughts as well as his Sharh-I Nahj al-Balagha, which is the most outstanding book left behind by him, and to study the value of his data.The main questions that initially preoccupy the researchers’ minds are "Who is Ibn Abi al-Hadid? ", "What scholarly, political, and social status did he enjoy? "What was his personality like?" And "What motivations and elements prompted him to create his Sharh-i Nahj al-Balagha, and what status and significance does it have.Answering these questions will undoubtedly pave the way to answering some other questions, too. In light of such discourse, in particular, the extent of validity of traditions, narrations, and information brought up in his work can be verified to some extent.To achieve the above goal and to answer the aforementioned questions, this article provides discussions in two separate sections: first, it examines Ibn Abi al-hadid's personality and his political, social, and scientific status, and then reviews his Sharh-I Nahj al- Balagha.

Therfore in order to find the relation between aesthetic and Faith, we have to analyse the meaning of love. on the other hand aesthetic is not just related to materials .the truth of aesthetic is rooted in rationality and furthermore, even the materialistic level of aesthetic is also has an inner and deep level which should be explored.

Abstract: 

This study aims to develop the organizational discipline model by focusing on physical and spiritual discipline (case study: Imam Ali Military University (IAMU)). In this qualitative-quantitative research, method is based on assumptions of the integrated analysis, in other words, the qualitative research method was used for pattern design and the quantitative one was used for pattern testing and data analysis. First, through conducting the interview (using the ethnographic method based on 3-step coding to examine and extract the pattern) with 15 experts as sample,components of physical discipline (following upper-level documents, occupational and communication discipline, behavioral discipline, non-conflict of interests, managers being active and effective in disciplinary procedures and modeling among students) and Spiritual discipline (anticipatory discipline, self-discipline culture, regard for moral codes, promotion of sincerity and commitment with emphasis on religious teachings and creation of emotional-mental conflict) were determined. Second, the reliable-valid questionnaire was made and distributed among 278 managers, commanders, professors and students of IAMU. After collecting the data, the extracted model was fitted using Smart PLS software. The results indicated that the research model’, s construct validity is suitable. Then, the designed model has been investigated and tested by using structural equation method. The results confirmed the relationships in the research.
